Our United Way was founded in 1961 and is an affiliate of United Way Worldwide. We are governed by a local board of directors made up of community volunteers who provide leadership. Our volunteer leaders help identify the most critical social issues in our community, then leverage resources and partnerships to advance the common good in Beaufort County.
Since our inception, United Way's focus has been and will continue to be on how to improve lives and strengthen communities.
