More Than a Statistic: Join Us for the ALICE Breakfast Simulation

Across our region, nearly half of our neighbors are living in a state of constant financial tightrope-walking. They are ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed)—households that earn above the Federal Poverty Level but cannot afford the basic cost of living in our community.
They are the childcare workers, the home health aides, and the mechanics we see every day. They work hard, yet one car repair or medical bill can trigger a crisis.
Step Into Their Shoes
On February 11th, United Way Inner Banks invites you to a morning of perspective-shifting. This isn’t just a presentation; it’s a guided simulation designed to expose the impossible choices families in our community face every single day.
We aren't showing up with all the answers. Instead, we are starting a vital conversation: How do we build a community where every family has a chance to thrive?
